There was a fine exchange about management and leadership on the Optimal Experience blog in the late hours of the night and the early hours of the morning—Saturday night being hot time for professionals to squeeze in one last deep thought.
In a previous incarnation of Not An MBA, I wrote three posts about management, leadership, and the chasm that specialists (developers, designers, etc.) cross to become general managers and leaders.
I had no intention of republishing these posts but the discussion changed my mind. The power of a subject specialist with strong business training (an alternative riff on David Kelley’s T-shaped thinker) at a point in time where business needs this kind of hybrid innovative thinking is too potent to miss an opportunity to reintroduce the message.
