Jelly is casual coworking. But in the space between episodes of work, discussions thrive.
- Security Web-sites and passwords. Wifi security. Identify theft. The discussion started innocently enough. What password should you use when you create an account on your Nth social networking site? I’m freaking out now.
- Communication What tools do you use? E-mail? Mostly yes. LinkedIn? Unanimously yes. Facebook? Mostly no. Twitter? About half. Yelp? I think Deanna signed up at least six new Yelpers. Communication is important however (the tools in use certainly point that way). Lots of distributed teams.
- Coworking Of course we talked about coworking. Some of the conversation was around scheduling the next Jelly. Atlanta does not currently have a coworking facility. So a lot of the conversation was around the feasibility of starting one. Cost. Location. Amenities.
One comment about coworking intrigued me the most. ‘Coworking is a reflection of what’s going on with networks online.’ The Internet and the distributed communities that evolved on top of this communication medium are now driving changes in the way we work, or can work. What do you think?
